Step 1: Reach Out for an Assessment

Applying for an assessment is simple and can be done online or by calling My Aged Care at 1800 200 422. If you prefer, your GP can also refer you for an assessment. We're here to assist you - just give us a call at LHSA assistance, and our friendly team will help you navigate this initial step. Having your Medicare card handy will make the process even smoother.

Step 2: Personalised Face-to-Face Meeting

Within three weeks of reaching out to My Aged Care, you'll be contacted to arrange a face-to-face meeting in the comfort of your home. This meeting allows My Aged Care to better understand your unique needs. Use this guide to better understand what will happen in this meeting

Step 3: Patiently Awaiting Your Home Care Package

Once approved, you'll be placed on the national queue to await your Home Care Package. The wait times can be found here, with shorter durations for those in "High Priority" situations.

When your wait time is less than three months, My Aged Care will send a letter advising you to find a Home Care Package Provider. That's the perfect time to connect with us at Home Care Assistance.
